Easter is the oldest and high priority feast in the Christian liturgical year, marking the death and resurrection of Jesus. It is a movable feast, and may fall earliest on 22 March, but no later than 25 April. Week anticipatory Easter is called Holy Week and is a time of remembrance principal Christian occurrences. The last three days of Holy Week (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday) are the Easter Triduum.
Easter is a time to take part in many church devotions and meetings in the family circle. Families gather together at the copiously laid tables to have Easter breakfast. The predominant and the most common courses are the one prepared with eggs, as well as eggs themselves, which is somehow Easter counterpart to the wafer which families share during the Christmas Eve.
